Stormy pictures from maternity photo session on the West Coast Sweden
It was a perfect summer storm coming towards us as we walked down to the beach on the Swedish West Coast. The clouds were turning all shades of severe blue and we were just seconds away from feeling first heavy raindrops against our cheeks and minutes away from getting soaking wet. I knew it and we had no time to waste. With this polished rocks, uncompromising sea and threatening sky it was jaw-dropping backdrop for Erika’s maternity photo session we were there to shoot.
The second part of her maternity photo session we decided to shoot at a place that has a very special place in her heart. This is a place where she ran around barefoot as a kid, had countless summer parties, but above all this lawn on the edge of the mountain from where you have a stunning view on the whole post-card pretty fishing village and the archipelago as long as you can see is the place where her grandparents live. Her grandpa is no longer with us, but as soon as she step inside their house it seems like the time has stood still there. Everything is breathing his presence. This baby that Erika is carrying would be his first great-grandchild.
Johan and Erika has been a couple for many years. The wanted to build a family, to have a baby, to build a house. Maybe not necessarily in that particular order, but God knew better and to speed up the things a little bit decided for them the order. So by Easter they had two big pieces of news to share – “We are having a baby!” and “We are building a new house!”
Enjoy the pictures and the slideshow as well.
